1991年神奈川県生まれ。2014年 多摩美術大学 美術学部 工芸学科 陶専攻 卒業。
2018-2023年までロンドンでフリーランスの陶芸作家として活動。
底からはじまり、内側と外側の間でせめぎあいながら上へ続いて形作られていく様、ろくろという回転体の上で成形するプロセスに惹かれ、作品制作を続けています。ろくろで挽いた作品に、流れや一点一点違う個性を吹き込むように作品に装飾、彩色することが多いです。
手と土のコミュニケーションから生まれる形や時間、作る楽しみを分かち合えるような活動を作り続けたいと思っています。
Akiko Matsuda is ceramic artist from Kanagawa, Japan. Born in 1991,
She studied at Tama Art University in Tokyo and majored in ceramics.
She’s passionate about uncovering new faces of ceramics and exploring the wisdom that clay has to offer, whilst showing deep respect for the longevity and legacy of a medium that can preserve and reflect both artistic and cultural ideas for thousands of years into the future.
Akiko wishes to extend the joy of making from working with ceramics and use it to convey the power of nature through her work.
